Chip Sealing across the Texas Panhandle and eastern New Mexico
Chip sealing lays down a layer of asphalt emulsion followed by a uniform aggregate cover, locked in by rolling. It restores a sealed, skid resistant driving surface at a fraction of the cost of an overlay, which makes it the right answer for county and farm roads, subdivision streets, and large lots where a full mill and overlay cannot be justified.
It is also fast. Most chip seal sections are placed and open to traffic the same day, so roads stay in service and businesses stay open. We handle sweeping and fog sealing where the specification calls for it, and we size the aggregate to the traffic the surface actually carries.
How a chip seal project runs
We check the existing surface for base failures that must be repaired before sealing.
Sweeping, patching, and crack sealing so the emulsion bonds to sound pavement.
Asphalt emulsion applied at spec rate, followed immediately by uniform aggregate cover.
Rolled to seat the aggregate, then swept once cured to remove any loose chip.
